Hi gang!
My name is Michael. I'm 53, divorced, and an unemployed library custodian. I've always been interested in the paranormal. As a kid I was the oddball who enjoyed sci-fi, spooky movies, "Twilight Zone", etc. In April 1988 I made a recording in a church of a conversation between two ladies. Only later, upon playback did I discover what is termed an EVP, (Electronic Voice Phenomena). A fellow custodian there had died in the church almost 2 months previous.
I have a great interest in evp, bicycle riding, restoring antique radios, gardening, astronomy, writing, cats, music, old archetecture, reading, and basic "guy" type food, (hamburgers, pizza, steak, etc.). Having worked many 3rd. shift jobs myself, I can readily empathize with David, and the desire for sleep! I guess that'll do me in for now. I'd like to thank you all for having me over.
Cheers,
Michael

Hi Michael, Welcome to our site. We're glad you came to visit us. Could you identify the voice on the evp as the man who died? Where do you live? Barb

Thank you for the welcome, friends. I live in Grand Rapids. The evp voice was a whisper, so kind of difficult to tell if it was the custodian friend of mine. Might have been but not sure. I would love to capture more evp recordings and I am lead to understand they are just as likely to be recorded on a digital voice recorder as on an analog tape recorder. I still have the machine I recorded the evp on back on April 10 1988, but I use my two Olympus DVRs instead as they are much smaller. One is the model VN 240, and the other is the VN 480PC which has an USB port that can interface with a computer. But thanks for the reply and am looking forward to getting into researching this subject. I haven't made a dedicated effort as yet to record evp on my digital recorders but would lke to. Thanks for having me aboard!
Michael

Hi again Michael, Rosemary's husband, Edwin, is also one of our team members. He's very into EVPs. I myself have never done many recordings other than the ones we do during the investigations. I used to talk of doing them in my house and my son would laugh and say I maybe shouldn't because he knew I'd get things and might be uncomfortable then. But that was years ago and I don't scare easily. I did some last year in my house when we brought a 'haunted' painting home. There were hours of sounds of things moving in my upstairs even though it was totally empty because we were getting it re-carpeted. So that gave me a lot to rethink about whether items can be haunted or have spirits attached. Anyway, we all use digital recorders. I too was a 3rd shifter and still can help but keep late hours...lol best wishes, Barb
